Brothers

Can't help but smile at this photo, you can see the little boys in them.

Brew a cup of tea...this is a long one.

The Adams family last left off with swimming lessons, and since then the blog has been very quiet, but we certainly have not. Here are a bunch of pictures to show you what we have been up to as we wrapped up the Summer.

August was a very full and fun month for us. We went to a wedding in LA, celebrated Steph's thirtieth with a party bus full of ladies and a night on the town, spent time with family in Portland, and last but not least....we became new owners of a cabin in Idyllwild, Ca.

(Apologies for the sideways photo) Isaac pushing his buddy Luke around the house. The Johnsons came from Phoenix to party down for Steph's big birthday bash.

Beautiful beach day in OB.

(again, apologies) On the plane making our way to Portland!

First stop in Portland, to our foe Portland neighborhood "Alberta" for some delicious lunch at the Tin Shed. One of our main goals on our visits to Portland is to take in all the fresh, organic, and local delicious food that we can. The Tin Shed definitely set the trip off well.

Isaac's first boat ride on the Columbia river. How did he like it? Stay tuned...

Grandparent spoiling below. Isaac was given his first pair of sunglasses from his grandma and grandpa.

(apologies..) The sophisticated boater.

Not a happy camper....but we will try and try again.

Awkward life vest, but necessary.

Isaac loves Portland!

More food! I would say that these are not organic, but they were delicious. We stopped at VooDoo doughnuts. They have quite the variety of flavors including maple and bacon.

The second doughnut in is the maple and bacon. Although we did not taste that one, we did try some cream filled and coconut delights.

Portland's Chinese Gardens. It is a beautiful escape right in the middle of downtown. It was transporting.

Another tasty treat we enjoyed along the way. Created by a Mrs. Denise Adams.

The rare photo of Ry and Steph. It's a good one.

In addition to family, friends and food, we also enjoyed the great outdoors that Portland has to offer. Which often leaves us having conversations of how we could get more of Portland's beautiful scenery...move there? This picture if from our hike on Eagle Creek trail.

Sassy Steph eating again. I featured this picture because you will notice a red string on my wrist. This string symbolizes a baby boy that is about to be born into this world any day. I received this string at a Mothers Blessingway Ceremony. All the women in attendance of this ceremony shared their blessings for the new mom, dad and baby. Then we made a web of this string, wrapped it on our wrists and we will all wear it till the baby comes. This string gives the soon to be mama the support and love she needs during this exciting time. She knows that there are 15 or so other women out there wearing this string, thinking of her and sending good love and thoughts her way.

I will be sharing a very close role with this new mom and dad, because they have asked me to be their doula at their home birth. I was so very touched and honored that they thought of me to be there support. So this is the next new adventure in the Adams house, as we are all excitedly awaiting the arrival of a small baby boy, when Steph will have to head out for who knows how long and witness the most beautiful event this life gives.

Great Grandma Elsie Berning, Grandma Denise Adams, Daddy Ryan Adams, and Baby Isaac Adams. Four Generations. This is wonderful that all four generations are able to come together and document it. Isaac has 2 Great Grandparents. Ryan's grandma on his mom's side and Steph's grandma on her dad's side.

Our new Idyllwild Cabin....

Sweet door bell.

Living room.

Ryan and I were sitting on our cabin porch admiring the stars talking about our 10 year old dog. We were reveling in all our memories of him over the years, and realized that at 10 years old he has calmed quite a bit. We even noticed when we arrived at the cabin, Cyriss did not run to the forest to explore....Then the morning came and we had spoke to soon. Early the next morning, Cyriss ran out of the cabin exploring as was not listening to his name or whistle. Ryan jumped in the truck to look for him, and we both had a sickening feeling in our stomachs. Then I spotted Cyriss up on the hill, looking like a deer, he casually trotted down to the deck like nothing was wrong. Only one thing was very wrong. He smelled of a nasty old decayed animal. He had rolled in something fresh. So, we leashed him to the deck and went out to buy this cabins first hose and dog shampoo. Cyriss may be 10, but he still has a lot of pep in his step.

We call this tree "Harry the Beast". It is a beautiful pine tree on our property, and one of many. As we were admiring this lovely tree, Ryan reminded me that this tree is our responsibility now, we own it. So if Harry decides to fall down, we will be responsible to cover the damage. I look at Harry as one awesomely huge pet that we need to take very good care of. Welcome to the family Harry Adams.
