Boys Weekend

I was just reading my cousins blog, and she had posted a major milestone for her little peanut...walking! I realized that in addition to not keeping our blog as updated as I would like, we had not let the world know that Isaac is now walking and is a champ at it. He took his time practicing for months, but has fully converted from his very skilled crawling to a determined walker. So, I thought you may like a video of Isaac in action. The video below was taken at San Diego's wonderful Fiesta Island. It is an island for dogs to roam free nestled in the center of Mission Bay (hehehe, I am making it sound so glamorous for those who are not familiar).

This is also a good time for me to update all you "OBAdams Blog following peeps" about my doings. So, here is the story. I was away all weekend at a training to become a Birth Mentor. Ryan, Isaac and Cyriss were woman-less and I think they had a lot of fun. They explored, played, rested but were happy to see mama come home too.

Now, back to the Birth Mentor. I am starting my own business as a Doula (birth support) and Birth Mentor (mentoring based on Birthing From Within...amazing book). This is something that was calling to me before I gave birth to Isaac. I fully enjoyed learning all about birth while I was pregnant, and felt absolutely insatiable to read, listen and experience everything birth. I thought this was just a phase, because of the fact that I was pregnant and the impending birth of Isaac was the biggest event in our lives to come. Then after Isaac's birth, the hunger only grew. I was so blessed to be a support to my loving friends in September and be witness to the birth of their son. While, some of you know and some may not, their son, Elan Vie, very unexpectedly did not live. I have been gentle with myself in these months after that experience and feel that Elan's birth has made this calling to support mothers and fathers only stronger.

So here I am. I feel amazing and centered as I travel down this new path. I look forward to collectively using all of my life's experiences and compassionately supporting parents.

Ok Ok...I know...enough of the grown up stuff, just show us the baby already...

thanks for reading!

  3. Isaac is so cute! He and Liv walk just alike, althought I'm sure he's a few months ahead=) She kind of walks like she's been riding a horse for a few months-legs a little farther out than they should be. But it works!

Christina told me about Elan Vie when we saw her in September-what a hard thing to go through. I'm so glad you've taken slow, gentle time and are moving towards such a meaningful profession! I'm so excited for you!
